Introduction
About
Design Engineering Laboratory is dedicated to conducting basic and applied research in robotics engineering. Seeking the system that human and robot can coexist in real world and studying to find out the mechanism of human and animals, the Design Engineering Laboratory has diversified its approaches to work toward its original goal of realizing the potential of the robotics techniques.
Member
Associate professor Kotosaka, associate professor Hodoshima, technical staff Akimoto are enrolled as staff members. Doctoral students, master's students and undergraduate students work freely and enthusiastically on their own research topics.
Facility
Student room is a room in which students usually conduct research and computers are set up for each students. Experiment room is used for robot experiment and machining operation. Laboratory member have free access to all student and experiment rooms.

| 2001 | Assistant professor Kotosaka, Shinya arrived. |
| 2000 | Assistant professor Watanuki transferred to Human Interface Laboratory. |
| 1994 | Professor Ishikawa retired. He became an emeritus professor at Saitama University. |
| 1991 | Dr. Watanuki, keiichi became an assistant professor. |
| 1987 | Assistant professor Otaki became a professor. |
